Look no more, using Yoga Props is the best way to improve your Yoga practice.

A lot of people dismiss props as something for beginners, but props are beneficial to all levels of yogis. Props assist beginners to advance into practice, next-level yogis to increase their strength, and experts to dive deeper into postures. Props make Yoga so much more enjoyable and your level of confidence in yoga changes entirely, and you will engage in sessions with a lot more enthusiasm as you never have before.

If you do not know props and their usage, I am here to guide you. So, firstly why do we need props?

 Yoga props can be used

To do complex postures with ease

To hold difficult postures for a longer duration

     To reduce muscle stress

     To add extra stretch

To maintain proper alignment during postures.

     To build muscular strength

To deepen the stretch/To deepen into the posture

To get support while doing postures

     To aid in balancing

and the list goes on.

Now that you know about props, Let's discuss some of the most widely used props of Yoga.

Yoga Blocks/Bricks:

The Yoga block aligns, enhances, and deepens posture. You can use them in 3 settings, low, medium and high. They can be used as heart-openers and Hip-openers. They can be used to support yoga postures, balance poses, and raise the ground level during your practice. In addition, you can also add weight and tension to your practice by using blocks.

You can use a cork block or a foam block since both provide the same benefits. Foam Brick would be a good choice if you want a soft, light, easy-to-carry and sweat-resistant block. If you are looking for a block that provides extra support and stability, then go for Cork Brick which is perfect in terms of texture, grip and traction.

Yoga Belts/Straps:

When people try to perfect their posture, they push their bodies beyond their capabilities, resulting in pain and injury. By using Yoga belts, you can do asanas with proper alignment safely without injury. Belts allow us to easily deepen into stretches thereby increasing flexibility. They help to hold difficult postures for a longer duration and aid in body alignment. Belts are excellent props for people with tight shoulders and tight hamstrings and help them release tightness and tension while doing postures.

I always use cotton yoga belts as they are durable, easy to wash and reduces the chance of cuts and injuries. My personal choice for the best quality yoga belt is this Cotton Yoga Belt.

Yoga wheels:

Yoga wheels are used to deepen stretches, increase flexibility, provide greater stability and support during practice. Yoga wheels when used for back bending asanas, help in chest-opening. These can also be used for advanced yoga practices. These can massage and relieve pain while doing not-so-comfortable postures. The yoga wheel allows you to mimic the curvature of your body, increasing spine mobility over time, so that you can perform poses that are complex and otherwise impossible. These wheels enhance the balancing capacity of a yogi.

Yoga wheels must offer a sturdy base and a comfortable grip so poses can be executed with ease, safety, and good support. This strong wheel is a great product I recommend for the ultimate comfort.
